Encouragements to pray in tongues:
Jesus said this: (Mark 16:17 NIV) And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands and when they drink deadly poison it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people and they will get well.
Paul thanks God that he speaks in tongues “more than any of you” (1 Cor 14:18) “I’m grateful to God for the gift of praying in tongues that he gives us for praising him, which leads to wonderful intimacies we enjoy with him.”
(Jude 1:20-21 Msg) But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the centre of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!
(Eph 5:18-19) And don’t be drunk with wine but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
(Rom 14:17) The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
(1 Cor 2:7) I speak God’s secret wisdom which he has kept hidden. Before the world began God planned this wisdom for our glory. …. (v10) But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit searches out all things, even the deep secrets of God…… (v13) and we speak about these things, not with words taught us by human wisdom but with words taught us by the Spirit. Another version says ‘But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery’
(Eph 6:18) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests.
(1Cor 14:17 NIV)When you are praising God in the Spirit…….you are giving thanks well enough, but….
(Col 3:16) Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
(1 Cor 14:5) I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied.
(1 Cor 14:2) For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no-one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.

(1Thess 5:16-18 NIV) Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
